Leader of the Opposition, Lia Finocchiaro, says the Gunner Labor Government has committed to sweeping illegal drug use under the carpet, by gagging debate and refusing to support an Opposition motion to introduce random drug testing of politicians and political staff in Parliament House.
“Michael Gunner had publicly thrown his weight behind plans to introduce drug testing for NT police – yet thinks he and his staff are above the same level of scrutiny.
“The Chief Minister thinks he’s better than Territory police. He thinks he’s better than Territory miners. He thinks he’s better than Territory truck drivers. He thinks he’s better than any other Territory employee who undergoes random drug testing. “Clearly, Labor has something to hide,” said Mrs Finocchiaro.
