Dr Tanzil Rahman moved to Darwin when he was just 2 years old and has never lost his love for the Territory’s unique lifestyle and economic possibilities.
Tanzil grew up in the northern suburbs going to local schools before moving to Sydney to study music, law and economics, which led to him getting a scholarship to Oxford University where he was awarded a doctorate in skilled migration.
The call for home has seen Tanzil resettle in Darwin and he is ready to use his skills to drive economic change.
“The Territory of today is not the Territory I grew up in and it doesn’t have to be the Territory of the future.
The people of Fong Lim are aspirational and looking for opportunities for their family to get ahead. That’s what has fired me up to be part of the solution to sustainably grow our economy, create jobs, attract skilled workers and grow our population.”
