Born and bred in the Territory, Lia grew up in Gray in Palmerston and attended local schools right through to the end of year 12.
Graduating with a law degree, after university, she went on to practice as a solicitor, including volunteering her services with Territory social and multicultural communities.
Since being elected to parliament in 2012, she has served in Government and held many roles before becoming Opposition Leader prior to the 2020 Election.
Lia has two beautiful children Isla and Isaac, and a supportive husband, Sam, to keep her feet firmly on the ground. She loves spending time with her family and friends when not serving the community.
“I love the Territory, it’s the best place in Australia to grow up and raise a family, but recently thousands of people are giving up and leaving, fed up with how crime has been left to run rampant.
It’s an honour to represent the voters of Spillett and fight for the issues that effect them on a daily basis. Whether it’s crime, cost of living, school funding, or local roads I will fight for them”.
I’m excited and optimistic about the future because the Territory can be better and the CLP Team have a Plan to achieve real change.”
