Moving to the Territory in 1991, Bill has lived in Alice Springs ever since. Father of two adult children who were born and raised in Alice Springs.
Before entering politics Bill was the General Manager of the Alice Springs Correctional Centre for over 6 years. He was responsible for budgets in excess of $45 million across two sites, and also had responsibility for up to 725 offenders and 275 staff members.
Working in corrections, Bill knows the difference that rehabilitaiton and skills training for offenders while serving time makes in reducing re-offending.
Bill also has extensive experience in the Tourism industry, previously managing two of the largest fleet operations at AAT Kings and Adventure Tours. He has also been a foreman and manager of a local business conducting mechanical and refrigeration repairs, both locally and into remote areas of SA and the NT.
Bill’s key strengths are strategic leadership, communication, and negotiation.
“I love Alice and have devoted time and effort as a volunteer to local sporting groups particularly in the motorsports area.
I have held positions with the Alice Springs Motorcycle Club, Off-Road Racing Club and Finke Desert Race Committee.
It’s also pretty well known that I love wetting a line along with mountaineering, bushwalking and cooking.
I’m fighting as part of the CLP Team that will address root causes of crime, so we can live safely in Alice.”
